This was a progress framing inspection, and the long soffit framing is what was viewed. This long soffit does not have enough support from what framing will be left after all ductwork is installed. A new method of support is need for this soffit, as contractor proposed… it could be a supported box header , or support by stiff backs at framing and unistrut attached to bar joists… or by other means per the design professional. Contractor and designer to come up with a solution to remedy this issue and have on-site for the inspector at inspection.

Corrections… 1) Cleat over-notched stud in hallway and provide clearance or sleeve at hole where Plastic piping runs through stud in the hallway location. 2) provide support detail to long soffit , no covering of adjoining wall or soffit at this time. Storefront to be completed as well. Set up inspection when these two areas are ready.

Approved to cover the sides of storefront soffit and misc open walls where plumbing was added. The long soffit now has a fix provided by the designer, complete this fix and set up inspection.
