Inspection was for the ceilling framing in commons area. The Armstrong light gage ceiling system is proprietary to holding gypsum board only as per the manufacture specs and what is listed in the ICC- ES report. Contractor and or Design team to come up with another way to support any items as blocking or other items that will be suspended from this system other than lighting or strobes.

Viewed the elevator front shaft wall on first floor. Shaft liner is not properly installed as the manufacturer requires for use with the tabs in the C/H studs. Went over corrections with installers and contractor. Contractor also wants to hang an ACT ceiling off the Armstrong light gage short span framing system. Contractor needs to get manufacture approval to do so, or figure a way to independently support the ACT ceiling from the short span ceiling.

Many corrections for the common area.... rated walls need to be gypsum covered to full wall height, firestops to be completed, ceiling framing with Armstrong grid system to be installed per the system requirements... no other backing or supporting from the Armstrong system is allowed per the manufacture specs without installation of the special pieces used with this system for supports, and then it still is limited on what can be supported. Not ready for inspection at this time.
