Partial pass for the framing, corrections include... 1) no wood in storefront framing. The wood backing to be removed and steel strapping to be installed. Wood can only be used when put overtop of 5/8" type X gypsum as the framing is fully encsed by gypsum first. 2) ceiling and added framing attached to mall smoke wall above ceiling cannot support off the smoke wall... attach kickers and strongbacks that support from deck above. Also support the wall sections left in ceiling by kickers to deck. 3) replace the studs used as the framing where water heater is to be set above to 20 gage structural studs, lightweight studs are not designed for the concentrated weight. Schedule a reinspection of these framing items when completed, along with the duct opening run through the 2 hr shaft.

Corrections... 1) hood vent to be completed, ceiling above to be repatched and a capture and containment test needs to be performed with city mechanical inspector. 2) the shaft behind the hood has the venting duct run through wall. This is a 2 hour shaft and the squared opening with round duct leaves it compromised to the rating. Contractor to patch opening around the shaft on the inside and outside of shaft, if metal collrs are to be used, they must be of the thickness that is rated for 2 hours and needed on both sides of shaft wall. Call for inspections with environmental health, mechanical, and build for final inspections... # 952-563-8930 inspection scheduling.
