Pipe and drape setup and layout... approved. Note...#1) protection at fire proofed columns is by a wrapped around curtain, this does not provide protection to the fireproofing. There has been provious discussions for these pop up exhibits if they are going to use this space as temp tenants, they need to provide actual protection to the fire proofed columns. For this 2-3 week event, the city will allow this to remain as is, but future pop up exhibits for this space , the mall must comply with the code requirements. #2) doors marked as exits do not comply for exits... (door numbers 1,2, and a door off the rated corridor just right of the exhibit entry) these doors do not swing in the right direction of travel as for exiting, they do not have closures on the doors, and door 2 opens all the way out into the mall common walkway... for use as an exit, door 2 needs to be recessed minimum 2/3 of the door width so only 1/3 of the door opens in the direction of exit travel into the mall common walkway. As per conversation with mall representative and tenant, the door to the left of the main entrance will have the exit sign covered temporary and this will not be labled as an exit. The exit door #2 will be flipped around and will not be an exit, the sign above door will also be temporarily covered. The main entrance door #1 will be left full open during operating hours and this double door will suffice as an exit. Since the occupant load for this space will require 3 exits, doors 1, 3, & 4 will be the exits for this space. #3) travel paths through pipe and drapes will be opened for full visible view of the exit path in order to locate the exits. #4) there are a couple holographic style exit type signs that are in place, (they really are not needed since all actual exit signs are fully visible) those holographic exits signs are not compliant to code requirements. They can remain in place, but are not allowed to replace the actual code compliant signs that are installed.
